Features
Drive and walk around key Apollo 17 exploration sites!

Features
You can explore key Apollo 17 sites, sometimes miles from the lunar lander.  Experience what it was really like to be on the moon.

Visit recreated mission control where they orchestrated the people and technology to land on the moon.
Visit the same historic locations from the Apollo 17 rover EVA's.
See the moon as the astronauts saw it.  A view from inside the LEM.
Free Driving
Drive where and how you want
Take control of the lunar rover and explore the lunar surface.  You can drive places the astronauts never could dare, like into the massive craters.

You can also choose to sit back and Relax, and take an Autodrive tour of key locations.

Real-Moon

Photogrammetry

Certain areas of the moon are reconstructed in 3D from astronaut
photographs using photogrammetry.  See how it feels to stand next to the
actual moon surface.
  1. Real-Moon Reconstruction
The surface is recreated from real moon data using new techniques and photogrammetry. The earth and sun size and position just like the Apollo 17 mission. The mountains in the distance, the craters, and close up surface reconstruction give the most advanced perception and presence in this simulation.
  2. Drive the Lunar Rover
Take control of the lunar rover itself, recreated in detail with the same 4 wheel steering, suspension, and power.
  3. Walk About
Walk around the lunar surface and discover vistas, photogrammetry, and little known stories of the last moon mission. Walk to the places the astronauts visited, and places they never could.
  4. Photogrammetry
In some cases, small areas of the lunar surface are reconstructed using multiple photos the astronauts took, and combining them using photogrammetry to recreate the lunar surface just like the astronauts saw - right before your eyes in 3D. You can examine the surface just like you were there!
  5. Surface Tracks
Your lunar rover leaves realistic tire tracks as you explore. Dust and rocks are kicked up just like the real rover. The astronauts leave real footprints.
  6. Documentary Detail
Little known facts, diagrams, photos, and video, are presented at certain points of interest. Learn about the emergency rover repair, the Apollo light flash phenomenon, and more!
  7. Height Data Extraction
New methods using the single sun light source combined with shadow information is used to extract new terrain topology detail.
  8. Rover Teleport Portals
Use the rover teleport portals to travel miles in seconds. Cover huge distances easily. Soar high above the lunar surface, and gently land miles away.
  9. Download on Steam
Download the VR Application on Steam for the HTC Vive or Oculus Rift.
